American Idol Double Elimination: Naima and Thia Go Home
As advertised, it was double trouble on the "American Idol" season 10 results show last night. Yup, because of the judge's save of Casey Abrams last week that put extra pressure on all of the young superstar wannabes this week - and they sure delivered some great performances. And those performances inspired a record breaking - for this point in the season - 55 million votes! But TWO had to go home. Double Elimination!!!! So who were they? Well Naima Adedepo was the first one sent over into the silver chairs to become one of the bottom three. Thia Megia was next and finally.... Paul McDonald. PAUL MCDONALD!?!
Noooooo! Say it isn't so! Elepharts had picked Stefano Langone as a sure loser - and he wasn't even in the bottom three. Hmmm... so maybe he's connecting more with the young girls who make up most of the voters on the show than we realized. Anyways, we also put Casey lower on the totem pole overall but as we expected he got a whole lot of sympathy votes this week. Next week will tell the true tale of where he sits in the rankings. Anyways, since two of the three were going home there was a whole lot of tension as they were finally brought to center stage for the final judgement. In the end it was Paul who was sent back to the safety of the couches - rightfully so - because while he's not going to win the thing, there are others who need to go first. So Naima and Thia, who both probably had their best performances of the season, were sent home. But while we expected Naima to hang on for one more week, this is a pretty sensible result. What do you think?
