Justin Bieber kissing Selena Gomez 2011

They’ve used every cliché in the book, describing each other as “family”, “best friends” and “great” people – anything to avoid confirming a relationship. But Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber let actions speak louder than words (again) Sunday night when they turned up together at Vanity Fair’s post-Oscars bash. Gomez, in a red Grecian gown by Dolce & Gabbana, and Bieber, in a black tux – with a

Rock Band Queen Kicks Off 40th Anniversary Celebration

Long Live The Queen!

Queen's 40th anniversary is now upon us, and the band plans to pull out all the stops to celebrate this historic occasion. "2011 is an important year for Queen," said Brian May "and there will be a lot of activity." Adds Roger Taylor, "I can't believe it's been that long and that we are still around in such a big way. I'm amazed and grateful!" This yearlong event will be marked by a series of releases, re-releases, special limited-edition items and events around the world.

It was in March 1971 that bassist John Deacon joined May and Taylor's buzzed-about London group, which had changed its name from Smile to Queen nine months earlier, following the addition of multitalented singer/pianist Freddie Mercury, thus completing the classic lineup. The four simpatico musicians proceeded to take the world by storm. The band has released a total of 18 chart-topping albums and 18 #1 singles, while selling more than 300 million albums worldwide, making them one of the biggest rock acts of all time. They've received seven Ivor Novello awards in the U.K., were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001, the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2003, the UK Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and even received their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in October 2002.

As live artists, Queen literally conquered the world. Acknowledged as one of the greatest stadium bands of all time, Queen performed over 700 concerts, reaching into every corner of the world. They achieved rock history by being the first band to open up South America and the Eastern Bloc, with world record-breaking concerts in Argentina, Brazil and Hungary.

This is a timeless band whose music retains such immediacy and undiminished power that new fans continue to discover and embrace it, along the way inspiring a host of diverse artists from Lady Gaga (who took her name from Queen's "Radio Ga Ga"), and Katy Perry, through to the Foo Fighters. It's worth noting that Queen's videos have collectively generated well north of 300 million views online—a remarkable figure that figures to expand exponentially with the launch of a dedicated Vevo channel this spring, in yet another iteration of the anniversary rollout.

As the centerpiece in the 40th anniversary celebration, Queen's entire 15-album studio catalog is being reissued in a series of deluxe editions. Every note is being tweaked, every piece of artwork is being cleaned, freshened up and resourced, wherever necessary, with the legendary Bob Ludwig doing the remastering, working from the original source material. The albums will be released in three waves, staggered over the next year, with the first wave—comprising the first five LPs—coming this spring.
Each studio album will be released in a new two-CD edition, the first containing the updated, remastered original LP, the second disc packed with rarities—and we don't use the term lightly. Some of these gems have never before seen the light of day, even in crappy bootleg form. To cite a particularly fascinating example, five first-album demos recorded at London's De Lane Lea Studios in December 1971 were pulled from the only existing copy on the planet—an acetate from May's personal archives. Not even his bandmates had a copy.

"A huge amount of work has already been put in behind the scenes to unleash a completely newly mastered set of the original Queen LPs and CDs," May noted. "I know our fans will appreciate the attention to detail, bringing the early albums closer than ever to the magic of the vinyl originals, but with the benefit of up-to-the-minute quality technology."

In other anniversary activity, the gallery exhibition "Stormtroopers in Stilettos" opens in London on Feb. 25, with plans in place to tour the exhibit around the world. According to May, this unprecedented event "will highlight in some innovative ways the growth of the 'Early Queen.'" On April 12, Hollywood will reissue Queen's debut single, "Keep Yourself Alive" b/w "Son and Daughter," on seven-inch vinyl in a limited edition coinciding with Record Store Day. And on April 19, the label will issue the band's Greatest Hits II for the first time in North America. This classic collection includes the rock standards "Under Pressure" and "Radio Ga Ga," plus many other classics from the second half of Queen's run, including the worldwide smashes "I Want It All" & "Innuendo." Additionally, the "Queen on Vinyl" reissue program will be completed this year with the release of the final five studio albums.

In the UK, Queen's Greatest Hits 1 holds the record of being the biggest selling album of all time ahead of albums by The Beatles, Oasis, Dire Straits, and Abba.

This is just the beginning of what promises to be a treasure trove of must-have pieces for Queen fans. More will be revealed in the coming months, so stay tuned.

Blue Crush 2: Lots Of Pretty Girls In Bikinis - Coming In June

Well, it's been 8 or 9 years now - and so finally the story can be told! Yes, the follow up the world has been waiting for is coming to Blu-ray in June -- the epic story of Jessica Alba's journey into the world of surfing... no hang on a second... that was "Into The Blue." And they already made a sequel to that one... Elepharts is pretty sure MTV "The Hills" starlet Audrina Patridge was in it... hmmmm. No, the surfer chick movie we're talking about here is "Blue Crush", the 2002 semi-hit that launched Kate Bosworth into semi-stardom.

So the sequel "Blue Crush 2" is a surfing adventure about a high-spirited California surfer girl as she treks across the magnificent beaches of South Africa, making new friends, finding romance and riding epic waves. Filmed along one of the most exotic and dangerous shorelines in the world, "Blue Crush 2" will be exclusively available for a limited time only from Universal Studios Home Entertainment and Imagine Entertainment as a Blu-ray™ Combo Pack featuring Blu-ray™, DVD and downloadable digital copy beginning June 7, 2011.

"Blue Crush 2" is directed and produced by Mike Elliott (Beethoven's Big Break) and stars a gorgeous and talented young cast including Sasha Jackson ("One Tree Hill"), Sharni Vinson (Step Up 3-D), Elizabeth Mathis (Tron: Legacy, Unstoppable), Ben Milliken (Newcastle) and newcomer Chris Fisher is joined by some of the world's preeminent surfers at the renowned "home of the perfect wave," Jeffrey's Bay (aka "J-Bay"), as well as other spectacular South African surf destinations including North Beach, Glenmore, Banana Beach and Coffee Bay.

The film also features many world-class female surfers from the professional Roxy team, including Sally Fitzgibbons, Bianca Buitendag, Rosy Hodge, Tanika Hoffman and Danielle Le Roux. Additional top female surfers featured in the film include Laura Enever, Sarah Baum, Roxy Louw, Tarryn Chudleigh, Kirsty Delport, Mia Hordyk, Morag Steele and Heidi Palmboom. Performing daring stunts and conquering some of the wildest surf ever captured on film on the men's side are surfing legends Jordy Smith, Taj Burrow and Travis Logie as well as big wave surfer Grant "Twiggy" Baker, Rudi Palmboom Sr., Casey Grant, Warwick Wright, Mikey February and Andrew "Roosta" Lange.

But blah, blah, blah... we all know why the people of the world are going to want to see this thing. PRETTY GIRLS IN BIKINIS!!!!!! YAY!!!!

'Alien' Voted The Scariest Movie Monster EVER

"Look Ma - No Cavities!"

The Alien monster from Ridley Scott's classic sci-fi horror film "Alien" has been voted the scariest movie monster of all time - and Elepharts simply couldn't agree more. That thing is SCARY! A poll carried out among 4000 of Britain's film fanatics showed that movie-goers are still terrified by the beast thirty two years on from its release. Second place was taken by (da-dun, da-dun, du-du-du-du...) the man-eating great white shark from Steven Spielberg's Jaws while third place was taken by the invisible, laser-wielding alien from 1987's Predator. The top five was completed with the underground sewer dwelling Creeper from Jeepers Creepers in fourth place and Jeff Goldblum's half-man, half-fly in The Fly.

A spokesperson from Jameson (the company conducting the poll) said: "Four of the films that made the top five were made more than 24 years old. They are classic movie monsters by anyone's definition but what's really surprising about these results is that the traditional and iconic monsters of the last hundred years like vampires, werewolves, Godzilla and King Kong were more likely to leave fans snoring than screaming."

The Crawlers from 2005's The Descent came in at number six while the shape-shifting alien from 1987's The Thing was voted number seven. The bloodthirsty werewolves from British horror flick Dog Soldiers came in at number eight and the T-Rex from 1993's Jurassic Park was voted in at number nine. Count Orlok the vampire from German classic Nosferatu completed the top ten.

The spokesperson from Jameson said: "Years ago people would be scared of the unknown – fantastic creatures with fangs and a thirst for blood. These days we have become accustomed to the classic monsters – vampires and werewolves play out romantic teen dramas, the ghosts are friendly, and even the recent remake of King Kong made him out to be a softie.

"Most people we polled agreed that CGI was making monsters much more realistic and scary compared to the special effects of the early first half of the 20th Century. I guess with technology developing the way it does we will have a lot more monsters to give us nightmares in the future."

VH1 To Follow 'Melo and La La To The Big Apple

As you've probably heard by now, spoiled rotten prima donna basketballer Carmelo Anthony was finally traded away from the Denver Nuggets to the New York Knicks where his cry-baby me-first attitude will be a much better fit... until they go on a losing skid. Then they'll want to run him out of town as badly as he wanted out of the Mile High City. Anyways, you might think this is just a sports story then. WRONG.

You see, 'Melo is married to actress and 'television personality' La La Vazquez. And her life is currently being documented for posterity in the VH1 series "La La's Full Court Wedding". And now that they're moving to The Big Apple - VH1 has decided to team up with her again for the new series "La La's Full Court Life" (working title) slated for premiere in August, 2011. It will be a 10 episode, 30 minute docu-series, and began filming in January right where the wedding series left off.

Here's what VH1 has to say about the new show:

The wedding may be over but the fun is just beginning for La La. With the sudden news that her husband is being traded to the New York Knicks, La La will deal with new adventures in matrimony and parenthood as she prepares to move back home to New York City. Along the way, viewers will also see La La juggle her busy acting and television hosting career and seek advice from some of her famous friends, including 50 Cent, Kelly Rowland, Trina and Serena Williams to name a few.

"Viewers connect with La La because despite the fairy tale wedding and NBA star husband, she is a real, down to Earth, hardworking woman who stays true to herself," said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production, VH1. "The best thing about the new series is that while pursuing and realizing her dreams, La La gets to take us back to her home in New York, where her story began."

La La Vazquez will also be participating in a live chat with VH1 on Twitter during the 7pm and 11pm encore broadcasts of "La La's Full Court Wedding" on Sunday, February 27. Viewers can join by following @LaLa and @VH1, and via the hashtag #FullCourtWedding. VH1.com will be home to show information, video clips, full episodes and more when the series premieres.

Dara Torres Continues To Make Everyone Else Feel Inadequate

The Incredible Ageless Olympic Swimmer Dara Torres
Hey - do you remember that 41 year old swimmer who won 3 silver medals back at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing? Dara Torres? She was amazing. Totally amazing. Since then she had to take a two year layoff from competitive swimming and have reconstructive knee surgery that initially left her unable to climb stairs or even play with her 4 year old daughter. Well... guess what. She just qualified for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials. She managed a time of 25.9 seconds in the 50-meter freestyle preliminaries at the Missouri Grand Prix. She's 43 years old. Let Elepharts repeat that - FORTY-THREE YEARS OLD. When the 2012 London Olympics roll around she'll be 45. FORTY-FIVE.

Anyways, the 12 time Olympic medalist and 5 time Olympian credits Fitness Nutrition Gold Medal Aminos product for helping her body recover from surgery far ahead of schedule saying, "I take my Fitness Nutrition Gold Medal Aminos everyday and can definitely tell my body is able to recover from the aches, pains, and wear and tear from my surgical rehab and Olympic training regimen."

Torres adds, "I call Fitness Nutrition Gold Medal Aminos my 'miracle powder', it is the only supplement I take." All Fitness Nutrition products, like Gold Medal Aminos, are certified to have no banned substances by an independent quality assurance organization.

"When I take any Fitness Nutrition supplement, I know what I am putting in my body is safe, clean, and effective," says Torres.

Elepharts is going to go out on a limb here and suggest that Dara might just well be a paid spokesperson for the company. That said, it all seems to be working for her. Big time.

Tron + Rahm = TRAHM: Chicago's New Mayor (VIDEO)

So former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel is the new mayor of Chicago after winning a decisive victory over his 5 rivals last night - taking 55% of the vote. In the run up to the election though, STUN Creative, a Los Angeles based advertising agency specializing in comedy production, released an animated video called "TRAHM" (as in "Tron" Meets "Rahm") that lampoons Rahm Emanuel's campaign.

The animated piece, which stars a cartoon version of Rahm Emanuel appearing within the futuristic environment from the movie "Tron," is a pop culture "mash-up" that offers cameos by other animated characters, including Lady Gaga, Oprah and President Obama. Brad Roth and Mark Feldstein, founders of STUN and producers of the animated comedy, joked, "Did our 'TRAHM' video help tip the election in Rahm's favor and make him Chicago's next mayor? We'd certainly like to think so!"

Hurley and Incubus Singer Brandon Boyd Offer HOPE

Iconic surf brand Hurley has announced a collaboration with musician, artist and activist Brandon Boyd, lyricist and lead singer of the band Incubus, on an exclusive art-inspired fashion collection benefiting H.O.P.E. (Helping Other People Everywhere). Brandon Boyd's life is characterized by self-expression -- a fusion of art, music, writing, activism and surfing. His love of the ocean is often the catalyst in his efforts as an activist, and this collaboration was no exception.

A multi-talented visual artist who works in a variety of mediums, Boyd took to his sketchbook for this project. His watercolor and ink drawings result in imagery that is both beautiful and subtly stirring. These designs are featured on the Hurley collaboration shirts.

"My relationship with Hurley began over a decade ago and was born of a mutual appreciation for surfing, music, art and like minds. We have done projects together in the past but it seemed like it was time we truly put our collective heads together to make a real dent in a situation that affects us all, most importantly the swiftly growing problems in our oceans. We start herein as surfers and musicians, and are moving forward as stewards of our Island," says Boyd about his longstanding relationship with Hurley and his mission behind the creative collaboration.

A portion of the sales from the limited edition collection, available at Buckle nationwide, specialty retailers and online at Hurley.com beginning April 15, 2011, will benefit H.O.P.E., a non-profit focused on involving artists and their contributions in campaigns, programs and events to support existing social projects that promote education and peace around the world.

"Brandon is the epitome of the Hurley brand, making him a perfect partner for us," says Greg Teal, Music and Entertainment Marketing Manager at Hurley. "He's not only a talented musician and artist, but also a lover of surfing who champions ocean-related causes, something that is very important to us here at Hurley."

Hurley will celebrate the launch of the Brandon Boyd collection with an art show featuring the original works the collection is based upon. Boyd will paint a mural on a wall of the Hurley )( SPACE gallery for the show. The event, which is open to the public, will take place on Saturday, April 2nd from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Hurley )( SPACE Gallery (1945 Placentia Avenue, Costa Mesa, CA 92627).

"True Colors" was also featured in Kodak's prominent television-based advertisement campaign for several years. Celine Dion scored hits with covers of "I Drove All Night" and "Alone." These songs have also been staples for singers on American Idol. In 1993, Steinberg & Kelly began another high-profile collaboration, writing numerous songs with Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders. The trio wrote six songs for the group's Last of the Independents album in 1994, which included the Top 10 hit, "I'll Stand By You," and the single, "Night In My Veins."

Allen Toussaint:
Allen Toussaint; musician, songwriter and record producer, is one of the most influential figures in New Orleans R&B. He has produced, written for, arranged, had his songs covered by and performed with music giants The Judds, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Elvis Costello, Patti LaBelle, Mac "Dr. John" Rebannac, Aaron and Art Neville, Joe Cocker, The (original) Meters, Glen Campbell, The Band, Little Feat, The Rolling Stones, Devo, Ernie K-Doe, Lee Dorsey, Irma Thomas, Etta James, Ramsey Lewis, Eric Gale and countless others. His songs and productions have been featured in numerous films, and as a result of his stint as musical director for the off Broadway play Staggerlee, the production garnered the prestigious Outer Circle Critics Award. Toussaint got his shot as a solo artist with a record for RCA and two of his earliest tunes, "Java," which became a mega-hit for trumpeter Al Hirt, and "Whipped Cream," the Herb Alpert hit, became instrumental standards. Toussaint then went onto team up with Lee Dorsey turning out a string of hits that included "Working In The Coalmine," "Holy Cow", "Ride Your Pony" and many others. "Working in the Coalmine" was then recorded by co-writer Lee Dorsey, "Yes We Can" became a smash hit by The Pointer Sisters and "Sneaking Sally Thru The Alley" was recorded by both Robert Palmer and Ringo Starr; he also contributed to the music business with his arrangements on LaBelle's hit, "Lady Marmalade." After establishing himself as one of the greatest songwriters, accredited to him by BMI Music, Toussaint was honored with a Grammy® nomination for 1977's Song of the Year, "Southern Night," performed by Glen Campbell. In 1998, Toussaint was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2009, was a Grammy® Trustees honoree.

The next chapter continues the saga of Cole MacGrath as he takes a dramatic journey down the coast to the Southern city of New Marais, where he faces a new, darker entity, known only as "The Beast." Testing his will and super-power potential, Cole must fight his way through New Marais and find the answer before the problem finds its own solution. Throughout his journey Cole is once again faced with the choice to use his extraordinary abilities to save all of mankind or follow a more chaotic and destructive path. This time around, Cole's karmic choices will directly affect the outcome of the story, providing for two vastly different endings and gameplay experiences. During this leg of his journey, Cole can once again fluidly and freely navigate the city, scaling nearly every surface with dynamic parkour moves. New Marais takes the open world genre to new heights and offers players a unique and evolving playground.

"Combining all-new dynamic open world gameplay and an evolved karma system, the second chapter in the best-selling franchise promises to bring back everything fans loved about inFAMOUS and more," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president, product marketing, SCEA. "inFAMOUS 2 is Sucker Punch's most ambitious game yet and is poised to once again be PS3's summer blockbuster with a more visceral, emotional and powerful take on the true superhero experience."

Scheduled to be released simultaneously with the game, the inFAMOUS 2 Hero Edition features a bounty of exclusive collectable items including: a detailed, 8.5" Cole statue, a replica of Cole's sling messenger bag, the inFAMOUS mini comic from DC Comics, and a collector's edition soundtrack with bonus tracks. The Hero Edition also kick starts the gaming experience and will include all the pre-order bonuses. Vouchers for in-game exclusives include the new Lightning Hook power that snares enemies and objects towards Cole, the Electrocution Grenade power that shocks nearby enemies with arcing electricity and immobilizes them before detonation, a Kessler character skin that allows players to play as the sinister antagonist from the first installment, and a 24K Gold Amp to melee enemies in style. Beginning today, fans can pre-order inFAMOUS 2 at select retailers.

Adding to the in-game ambiance, the original soundtrack combines Bryan "Brain" Mantia's experience from Primus and Guns and Roses with the feted New Orleans outfit Galactic to add a level of authenticity and funk to inFAMOUS 2. Galactic is no stranger to the New Orleans music scene and was featured on the hit show Treme. Influenced by the rich musical history of New Orleans, Galactic and Brain collaborated with renowned game, film and television composer Jim Dooley and SCEA Music Manager and composer Jonathan Mayer to create an eclectic mix of jazz, funk, and electronica. The highly collaborative team used a range of techniques from raw junkyard percussion supporting performances by a jazz string quintet and New Orleans brass players to a 64-piece orchestra to produce the right musical signature to accompany the inFAMOUS 2 saga. The official soundtrack will be available digitally and with other promotional partners.

Justin Bieber To Be Immortalized In Wax

Following the release of the highly anticipated 3-D documentary Never Say Never, Madame Tussauds announced today that Grammy-nominated POP/R&B singing-sensation Justin Bieber will be the next celebrity to be immortalized in wax. Bieber's figure will make its world debut this March at three Madame Tussauds attractions—New York, London and Amsterdam.

"I'm honored to be getting my own wax figures at Madame Tussauds New York, London and Amsterdam," Bieber said. "To be immortalized in wax alongside some of my idols - Michael Jackson, Prince, Beyonce and my mentor, Usher - is incredibly exciting and very cool."
Bieber was an enthusiastic participant of the four month-long figure creation process, spending time with a team of Madame Tussauds studio artists who took hundreds of precise measurements and photos of the singer to ensure the figure captures his signature style and of course, his signature locks.

"Justin Bieber is one of today's biggest stars, and we are thrilled to be able to give his fans and our visitors - who have been requesting that we create Justin's figure since he burst onto the scene - a preview of his wax likeness before its world premiere in March," said Bret Pidgeon, General Manager Madame Tussauds New York.

With over 9 million albums sold worldwide at just 16 years old, Justin Bieber's star continues to rise. He has won four American Music Awards, including Artist of the Year; he was also nominated for two Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist; published a New York Times best seller, First Step 2 Forever; and guest starred on "Shaq Vs." and "CSI". With millions of fans that have caught "Bieber Fever," Justin is admired for his talent, charm and generous support of charities such as Pencils of Promise.

How To Have A Successful Office Romance

Despite the cramped conditions and unflattering fluorescent lights, the typical office space can be a hotbed for meeting your significant other. With most people now spending 50 hours a week at work, there are not many free hours available to meet that special someone. An inter-office romance can be dicey, so follow some tips to avoid a bumpy road.

Tips for a successful office romance:

  • The first step is making sure you only pursue other singles. Some harmless flirting with those poor married folks is okay, but that's it!
  • Been flirting with Mike in payroll but he hasn't asked you out? Some people are very shy about office romance, so take the initiative!
  • Not sure if Sally in Marketing is the right one for you, try the "it's just lunch" concept and gather a group of like-minded individuals for an inter-office lunch and see how she interacts with everyone, including you.
  • Keep it casual. You never know if things will work out with an office romance, so set some simple ground rules from the start so if the relationship ends, there are no hard feelings.
  • Copiers can be used for more than printing the quarterly report! Let your imagination run wild and print up some interesting inter-office memos to each other.
  • Need to keep your office romance quiet? Be smart about it. Don't drive to work together and park in the company lot! Smooching sessions in the elevator are also fraught with danger. Keeping it secret is smart for your careers and can add a bit of danger and spice to the relationship.
  • Don't hit the "All Company" email address when you call her "Snoogy Snookums." It's best to keep your work emails and chats rated PG. In fact, it's probably best to avoid personal messages in work e-mails. Save your sexy messages for home.
  • Limit your group trips to the supply closet. If both of you are required to get supplies and it takes 25 minutes to retrieve paper clips and pens, you might raise some suspicions.

After a bunch of dates away from work, it might be time to explore some intimate moments. Choose Astroglide's many different products to spice up your next work "meeting." How To Be Smart About Snacking

Mid-morning munchies? An afternoon snack attack? Or a late-night nosh? No matter what time of day, sometimes the body just seems to be calling out for something to nibble on. But snacking doesn't have to be a bad thing -- if you know how to do it right.

Snacking with wellness in mind can help curb your appetite and keep you from overeating at meal times. Here are some tips, ideas and recipes to help you out.

Plan Ahead. We all need a little pick-me-up during the day. So rather than hitting the vending machine at work or the fast food place when you're out, pack wholesome snacks such as apples or almonds to have on hand when the munchies hit. With nutritious snacks at the ready, snacker's remorse is sure to be a thing of the past.

Practice Portion Control. Snack time should be enjoyable, but it's important not to overindulge. A portion-controlled snack such as Lean Cuisine® Spring Rolls makes it easy to snack deliciously while enjoying a balanced treat. Packed with 100 percent white meat chicken, melted cheeses, crisp vegetables and flavorful sauces, these tasty spring rolls are 200 calories per serving and they're ready in just minutes. Find out more at www.LeanCuisine.com.

Pay Attention to What You Eat. Mindless eating leads to overeating. Instead of munching while you work or sneaking a snack during your favorite television show, eat only to satiate hunger. Being aware of the foods you consume and why you are consuming them will help you better manage calorie intake and avoid eating when you're not hungry.

Snackin' Pumpkin Hummus

1/2 teaspoon salt or more to taste
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

PLACE chickpeas, pumpkin, lemon juice, water, garlic, salt and pepper into food processor; cover. Blend for 1 minute or until smooth. Additional water, a teaspoon at a time, can be added if a smoother consistency is desired. Stir in parsley. Serve immediately or refrigerate in tightly covered container for up to 4 days. Makes about 2 cups.
SERVE along with pita triangles or raw vegetables.

Crunchy Dark Cherry Raisinets Granola
Makes 25 servings (1/4 cup each)
1/3 cup maple syrup or honey, at room temperature
2 tablespoons butter
4 cups old-fashioned oats, uncooked
2 cups total of mixed nuts and seeds (chopped pecans, chopped almonds and shelled sunflower seeds)
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup (4 ounces) Nestlé Raisinets Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries
1/2 cup sweetened dried cranberries or chopped
crystallized ginger (optional)

BAKE, stirring occasionally, for 25 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and cool completely in pan on wire rack. Add Cherry Raisinets and dried cranberries. Store in sealed container for up to 3 weeks.

Snacking Solutions

Fruits and Veggies. Pack some grab-and-go produce to help you feel full. Produce not only contains fewer calories, but offers a wide variety of essential vitamins and minerals.
-- Did you know that two tangerines have fewer calories than an 8-ounce glass of orange juice? And they contain more fiber, helping you feel satisfied.
-- Pack an assortment of colorful veggies for work. Try strips of red and yellow peppers, baby carrots and celery. Paired with a nutritious dipping sauce, these delightful veggies are sure to please.

Whole Grains. Whole grains provide many nutrients, including dietary fiber, several B vitamins, and minerals like iron, magnesium and selenium. So skip the bag of greasy chips and go for some whole grain crackers or pretzels instead. Try them with a low-fat dip or a little bit of flavorful cheese.

Protein. Give your body a longer lasting energy boost with protein-packed snacks.
-- Hummus is low in calories and fat, and is loaded with protein, fiber and flavor.
-- A hard-cooked egg has fewer than 100 calories and can help bridge the hunger gap between meals.

Low-Fat Dairy. Dairy products like cheese and yogurt are satisfying sources of protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals. But make sure you check the labels -- some yogurts have a lot of added sugar, so when you look for low-fat, make sure you also look for low calorie.

The Stars and Pros Come Out For The Raise Your Hand For Africa Texas Hold-em Tournament

Adrian Peterson, Bill Austin and Larry Fitzgerald Jr.
Africa's hearing-impaired children were the hands down winners of the Raise Your Hand for Africa Texas Hold'em Tournament, where stars from the gridiron, poker world, Hollywood and music industry put their cards on the table on February 19, 2011 at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas.

The event was attended by more than 350 participants and raised awareness for Starkey Hearing Foundation, dedicated to providing hearing instruments to those in need; and PROS FOR AFRICA, a non-profit relief organization providing basic needs to children of Africa, both support a combined African mission in March.

Walking the red carpet prior to the event and taking a seat at the tables, was presenter and Poker Legend Phil Hellmuth Jr., along with event co-hosts Larry Fitzgerald Jr. (Arizona Cardinals) and Adrian Peterson (Minnesota Vikings), and some of the world's best known pros and celebrity poker players including actors Steve Martin, Kevin Sorbo, Verne Troyer, Lou Ferrigno and Daniel Romer; music legend Sam Moore; football stars, Visanthe Shiancoe (Minnesota Vikings), Vernon Davis (San Francisco 49ers), Vontae Davis (Miami Dolphins), Gerald McCoy (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Curtis Lofton (Atlanta Falcons), Mark Clayton (St. Louis Rams) and Roy Williams (Cincinnati Bengals); and poker pros Suzie Lederer, Marcel Luske, Liz Lieu and Michelle Lau.

Steve Martin Plays Poker For Charity
Taking the event's top prize, a 2011 CSM #2 Shelby Mustang, was poker novice Debbie Gostowski (Effingham, Ill) with Family Care Hearing Center, a strong supporter of Starkey Hearing Foundation. Other final table prizes included iPads and all expenses paid trips to Africa, South America and Mexico as part of Starkey Hearing Foundation missions.

"The Starkey Hearing Foundation's mission is to bring the gift of hearing to those in need," said Bill Austin, Chief Executive Officer of Starkey Laboratories and Founder of the Starkey Hearing Foundation. "Our goal is to raise awareness to help the world's hearing impaired, and we thank the football and entertainment communities as well as our event partners for staging this great tournament in support our upcoming mission to Africa."

"Today's Raise Your Hand for Africa tournament will help provide hope, help and love to the children of Africa, and make our upcoming mission possible where myself and several other football players are planning to visit Uganda and Rwanda to deliver basic life-saving needs to various communities," said Adrian Peterson.

The Raise Your Hand for Africa event precedes PROS FOR AFRICA's upcoming March mission where more than 25 football stars will bring basic necessities to the people of Africa, and join the Starkey Hearing Foundation on a special hearing mission. Under the direction of Bill Austin and a team of hearing experts, the Starkey Hearing Foundation mission to Africa will include visits to Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Burundi, with the distribution of hearing aids and batteries, custom fittings, audio testing, and counseling on how to care for the devices.

The nationally-syndicated poker show, Heartland Poker Tour, will produce a one-hour special episode highlighting Raise Your Hand for Africa that includes HPT's final table set, on-air commentators Fred Bevill and Chris Hanson, and roving camera crews. This first-of-its-kind special airs nationwide the week of April 11.

As Dr. Oz and Jimmy Fallon are neighbors with their studios right across from each other at New York's famed 30 Rock, Jimmy showed Dr. Oz his mole on his left hand which the doctor diagnosed as a blue nevi. When Dr. Oz appeared as a guest on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on January 6, 2011, Dr. Oz invited Jimmy to come on the show to have the potentially cancerous mole removed (after a biopsy, the mole was determined to be not cancerous).

Jimmy arrived in a hospital gown and, despite some nerves, he put his trust in the hands of Dr. Oz and physician Dr. Arthur Perry. As he sat in the operating room chair and doctors made incisions and sutures, Jimmy turned his eyes away, unable to watch. He sang verses of the National Anthem and cracked jokes as the audience squealed and chanted in support, "Jimmy! Jimmy!" When the audience was silent during certain moments of the surgery, Jimmy pled for their support.

"The audience was being really nice, acting like nothing was happening. It was like a 'Saved By The Bell' episode, they kept saying whoa. I said, 'Please make different sound effects, you guys. Just laugh at it, please. Whatever's really painful (to watch), just laugh,'" Fallon said on the show.

And how was Jimmy as a patient? "We had to struggle to get him downstairs to the studio after wrestling to the ground. He yelled and screamed throughout this. God knows why. It was a tiny little needle," Dr. Oz said. "What a cry baby. I didn't even get his co-pay. I'm going to send him a bill. A big bill."

Then Jimmy got his chance to play doctor and inflict some pain on Dr. Oz in the next segment as Dr. Oz agreed to have an under-eye scar removed in front of his audience. First, though, Dr. Oz's sister Seval came on the show to settle a long-standing argument with her brother about the scar below his eye. An old childhood wound, Dr. Oz claimed the scar was caused by Seval when she threw a rock at him in a basketball game. Seval claimed it never happened.

With siblings of his own, Jimmy acted as mediator and the two decided to call a truce by having the scar removed once and for all on the show. With cameras rolling, Dr. Arthur Perry returned to perform the laser surgery, while Jimmy assisted by holding the laser.

Hollywood Stars Turning To The 'Kleenex Diet'

In a recent interview on CNN, Janet Jackson talks about the extreme measures some women in Hollywood take to achieve and maintain a thin body. She says some are even eating Kleenex to stay full so they don't feel hungry. Kimberly Dennis, M.D., and Medical Director at Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center, a residential treatment center for eating disorders and addictions, warns about the dangers of this behavior, and says there might be deeper problems hidden below the surface.

"I could call this the tissue issue, and it would sound funny, but I'm not laughing. This type of behavior can cause serious health complications," said Dr. Dennis. "I have worked with anorexics, bulimics and women with other disorders who eat non-nutritive substances to fill themselves up as a measure to control their weight. In other words, they avoid eating food which contains calories." Besides the physical problems associated with poor nutrition, this can cause intestinal problems, pain, bloating, and even blockage and ruptures in extreme cases.

Dr. Dennis adds, "People who put their health and lives at risk to look a certain way need to take a deeper look at what's really going on in their lives, beyond the physical. Eating tissue to stay thin is a perfect example of this. Many times the eating disorder, disordered eating and other forms of self harm are associated with depression, anxiety, low self esteem and/or trauma.

"I implore women not to idolize these thin, model-like frames, which do not represent a healthy body," said Dr. Dennis. "Stay away from images of anorexic looking models or actors, and surround yourself with healthy women who affirm their own beauty and who can help you affirm yours, too."

Supercar vs. Supermodel (High Res Pictures and VIDEO)

A gorgeous supermodel with wind blowing through her hair isn’t unusual to see in the annual Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition. But when that wind is created by a Lexus LFA supercar screaming by, it’s definitely something to check out.

Supermodel Rianne Ten Haken, who has graced the cover of magazines such as Vogue and GQ: Gentleman’s Quarterly, participated in a very different swimsuit photo shoot as she faced off with the 552 horsepower, 4.8 liter, V10 engine of the LFA. At a distance of just four feet, the LFA ran multiple high-speed donuts around the model to create the imagery for the sizzling four-page spread. The spread and additional executions were custom-designed for the highly-anticipated Swimsuit issue, which offers the perfect platform to showcase the LFA while reaching a broad audience. Behind-the-scenes footage of the dramatic shoot can be viewed on YouTube.com/lexusvehicles and on iPad and Galaxy Tablet applications, with banner ads running on SI.com.
