Johnny Depp's "Rango" Wins The Box Office Shootout
Well, pairing People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive 2009 with Angelina Jolie may have proven to be box office poison, but turning him into an animated lizard, it seems, has worked out just fine. Yep, Elepharts can now report that Johnny Depp's foray into cartoon-land "Rango" has landed at the top of the box office heap for the weekend of March 4-6 2011 with a haul of $38 million.
Second place went to "The Adjustment Bureau" starring a live action People magazine's Sexiest Man Alive 2008 Matt Damon, with $20.9 million, while third went to High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgen's flick "Beastly" with $10.1 million. Coming in fourth was "Hall Pass" with $9 million and another animated feature "Gnomeo and Juliet" rounded out the top 5 with $6.9 million.
