J.Lo's Hubby Marc Anthony Joins "Hawthorne" Cast
Jennifer Lopez's decision to join the judging panel of "American Idol" season 10 continues to pay big dividends for her family. Not only does she enjoy a nice payday from her work on the show, but it has also been instrumental in reviving interest in her own moribund music career -- heck, with the show even serving as the launching pad for the music video of her new single. On top of that, during the show's audition tour the world caught it's first glimpse of her faded pop star hubby Marc Anthony in years. Has all of this led to the decision by Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith to add Marc to the cast of the third season of her TNT drama "Hawthorne"? Elepharts says YES.
Sure Marc had a two episode guest spot on the show last season - a situation which has turned out to extremely fortuitous to the ratings and publicity challenged show - but come on! Mrs. Smith obviously knows a good opportunity when she sees one. Jennifer will be all over the TV and entertainment news through May and as luck would have it "Hawthorne" is back on the air in June. That's some nice lead time to get Marc out there with his gorgeous wife and drum up some hype for his new role. We're not suggesting there's anything at all wrong with this. We're just saying. Anyways, Anthony will be reprising the newly expanded role of Police Detective Nick Renata just as Pinkett Smith's Christina Hawthorne, Chief Nursing Officer of James River Hospital, struggles with news that she is pregnant. The pair developed a strong bond last season while Renata investigated a pair of criminal cases involving the hospital. But Christina, whose on-again, off-again romance with Dr. Tom Wakefield has been a mess of mixed signals and bad timing, told Nick she was not ready to jump into a new relationship.
