"True Grit" Riding Into Stores June 7, 2011

"True Grit" was clearly one of the best films of 2010. Nominated for 10 Academy Awards, directed by Oscar winning directors Joel and Ethan Coen and starring Oscar winning actors Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, the gritty and memorable western was embraced by audience and critics alike. It made over $165 million at the U.S. box office and was named one of the top 10 movies of the year by more than 75 reviewers. And now Paramount has announced the date you can bring it home to enjoy over and over again -- June 7, 2011. That's the day the Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack with Digital Copy (and just plain DVD version) hits the stores. Elepharts will be picking up the Combo pack for sure - this flick begs to be seen on Blu-ray on the office's big screen TV!

If you've been sleeping under a rock or something and you don't already know - here's what the movie is all about: Jeff Bridges stars as Rooster Cogburn, an irascible U.S. Marshal hired by a 14-year-old girl (newcomer Hailee Steinfeld) to bring her father's killer (Josh Brolin) to justice. Matt Damon is an overzealous Texas Ranger who is also tracking the killer, hoping to capture him and bring him to trial for another murder. Yes, it's a remake of the film that helped "The Duke" win his Oscar. But under the direction of those Coen brothers - you just know it's something a little different and more than just a little special.
